2007 Avalanche stalls while driving, then starter turns but engine does not.
The starter is working perfectly and it spins when engaging the ignition switch but the engine is not turning. I changed the starter just because so it works

The engine made no noise when it stalled

Is there a safety of some sort that cause the starter to not engage flywheel?
The alternative of course is that the flexplate , flywheel is damaged?

Anyone that has some advice on this would be appreciated
