Default Cruise Control works intermittenly

The cruise control on my 2009 works sometimes and at other times it doesn't. From some of the other posts it sounds like it might be the brake light switch located on the brake pedal arm. I have looked into buying a replacement part from a few different auto parts stores and there seems to be some confusion on whether there is a difference in the part needed based on the truck having stability control or not. Does anyone know if there is a difference. The switch on the websites are described "w/o Stability control" or it is not specified. None of the ones I saw say "with stability control". My truck has stability control and I want to make sure I get the right one.

Thanks for the help

Go to dealer and give them last 8 of your VIN. Buy the dealer part. It'll save you in the long run

Welcome to the forum...
You might try removing the switch you currently have installed and inspecting it, it could just need to be cleaned up or tightened up... while you have it out, check to see if the part number is stamped on it, that should make it a bit easier to track down, or as the other poster stated, ask you local dealer for the part number...

I had this problem on my '08 Avy a few years back. Easiest fix was take to dealer. I think it was $70 to replace and install. However, I have an LS 2WD with the stabilitrack. Not sure if that will change the cost.

tentwo22,

Sorry to hear you are having this concern. You can certainly private message us the last 8 of your VIN and I can locate the correct part number.
