Dome/courtesy lamp malfunction
The dome/courtesy lamps on my 2008 Avalanche do not switch on when the doors open or the key removed from the ignition. It appears that the push/pull dome light switch has failed. Dome/courtesy lights can be turned on manually and adjusted normally by this switch. What is needed to fix this?
I must not be the brightest bulb in town to have not solved this problem earlier in the 1 1/2 years I have owned the Avalanche.
Problem was caused by somebody turning off the dome lights with the switch just above the pull-out switch. When I realized that there was a switch there I used it and switched the dome/courtesy lights back on as they are supposed to work when you either open the doors or take the key out of the ignition.
