Default Drivers Side Door Ground Wire Question

About 6 months ago I lost all control of the drivers side door. The only thing that works on the control panel is the mirrors. No control, doesn't lock, or trigger the cabin lights when i open the door, everything is shot. I thought it was the actual control panel but I removed it and installed it in my friends 2012 Silverado, worked perfectly. So I'm positive its a ground wire issue. Now before I start digging I would like to make this a much easier task.

Has anyone had and dealt with this problem before, if so which is the ground wire? Pictures would help tremendously and or the exact location as to where this issue usually starts.

Thanks

check for broken wires in the a-pillar. the wires pass from the door into the body throu a rubber loom...pull back the loom...the wire flex when the door opens....over time they break.
