Service stabiltrack/traction control with a blinkingnengine light
Up until a few months ago my 2008 chevy avalanche has run great and i have had no major problems. I am the original owner and i've had regular maintenance on it since i bought it. A few months ago the service traction control/stabiltrack codes started flashing with a blinking engine light with it. I immediately stopped driving the truck and have been trying to self diagnos and fix the problem myself. The more i research the problem it seems like it can be a whole laundry list of things and nobody has 100% fix for it. The scanner says a misfire on cylinder 6. I've changed the spark plugs and changed coil packs to no avail. I could change the injector but I'm trying to hold off unless i have to since I've read many people changed it out and it didn't fix the problem. I've read there is a extended warranty for this problem on a few forums and wondering how to private message a admin to find out if my truck is eligible for this. I have a 2008 avalanche VIN is 3GNEC12068G292784 with approximately 105k miles. I am the original owner like i said and it has been well maintained. Please help i don't have 1000s of dollars to pour into a fix that may or may not fix my truck. Was hoping to get a few 100k out of the truck. Hopefully i still can. Thank you, Matt Amandola Townsend De
Pull the spark plug and do a compression test, it'll tell you if the cylinder is dead. Also, remove the rocker cover to see if any parts have come loose and check if all the rockers are moving, with someone else cranking the engine. But do compression test first, it the easest.
