Steering Knock
You can still ask them to lube it, some GM dealers still stock the lube kits. If they don't someone in the shop may be willing to do it if you don't want to spend the money on a new shaft. If all else fails, you can remove it and lube it yourself.
I had same problem with my 2003. Dealer fixed it free. Dealer said GM will fix it if customer complains and the truck has less than 60,000 miles. My Avalanche had about 55k miles when dealer fixed it. Good luck.
