The 92 Corsica engine should be this:

The 96 Corsica engine should be this:

This is as far as them being both a v6.

The engine mounts will most likely be different.
The wiring will for sure be different
The old ECM and wiring will run the 96 SFI v6 engine design, but I can't say if it will be smooth or fuel efficient, it will run it like the did the old 3.1 design. MPFI. not SFI.

You can keep the same transmission, or take the newer trans with the SFI engine.
If you also use the 96 trans, it will mean the wiring harness as well and the ECM with that engine/trans design. Its more fuel efficient that way, the old ECM wont run the 96 trans.

Newer 3.1 SFI v6 on the 92 trans will mean properly mounting the kick back cable on the 96 throttle body linkage. Which can be done, However I never have. I used my old 3.1 throttle body on the 3100 SFI engine because it was easier. I just removed the vacuum line ports and put a flat plate over them to seal them...

It is your choice, I can help you the best I can, just ask.

*I have done this before with my Beretta's.
