Default 96 Corsica temp gauge

Evey time you turn the steering wheel left or right the temp gauge spikes all the way hot,let go of the wheel and the temp goes back to normal.Temp of the coolant in the overflow tank pretty much stays constant at 190 deg.while this happens.where do I start looking for a problem? The intake is coming off this weekend for gaskets too,but I have enough info to fix that issue.

well that is odd. if it was me i would trace the wires down. i wouldnt be suprised if somewhere along the line a wires insulation was worn threw. when you turn the wheel you hit the wire and then your guage spikes. that the only thing i can think of honestly. if you figure it out let me know what it was im curious.
