Default First car, 95 Beretta, circuit not grounded?

So, I bought this car on Saturday, and I'm very happy with it, except the blinkers don't work, and when the blinker switch is up or down, the brake light on the same direction doesn't work (ie: left blinker, left brakelight) the power locks don't work, and I'm pretty sure the cigarette lighter doesn't work either. Everything else seems fine. We took it to a mechanic and for the blinkers he said something about the circuit not being grounded? I don't know much about cars, but I've been reading online and that seems to be connected to all three problems, could that be a possibility? Also, the gauges are weird, the temp stays in the middle area but moves, the speedometer seems to be about five mph fast, and the gas gauge bounces between quarter tank and empty, are any of these common problems, if so do I really need to fix them, or just kind of get a feel for the car?

Thank you so much for any replies!

Hi,If you still read this there is a ground wire by the Driver's seat, under the carpet, what you need to do is open Driver's door, remove plastic sill plate, lift up carpet by seat, actually easier if you remove the seat.then move carpet out of the way.
You will see a black wire bolted around the seat area, remove the rusted screw and replace with a new shiny screw after wire brushing the area well,if the wire is corroded cut and crimp a new ring terminal and bolt it down, you can put some petroleum jelly(vasiline) over the screw to keep it from rusting.
put your carpet back, sill plate, and reinstall seat, now see if your power door locks work, among other things that didn't work before.good luck!

P.s I would think your tailights should ground somewhere near the light itself.
