Default Gas Tank find?

ok I have found a TON of gas tanks for a 87-89 berretta but nothing for a 90 berretta indy. Is the only difference between the 87-89 and the 90-92 the material the tank is made of? the 87-89 looks to be steal tank and the 90-92 is plastic. I have found 2 brand new plastic 90-92 Indy tanks but at $450 ill go pick up the used one 2 hours away at a junk Yard for $85 plus my gas. However the 87-89 I have found online for $120 plus $30 for shipping (brand new) would be much better for me if it fits. I also need the tank straps that I am also unable to find anywhere online for the 90-92 but are everywhere for the 87-89.

I paid $250 for this car because of the fact I did find a used tank. Its going to be my sons first car. So other than ordering the 87-89 and hoping it fits has anyone had experience in this? The only thing keeping it from going down the road is the hole in the side of the plastic tank from the straps breaking and the tank sliding into the exhaust. Oh and the fact that it still has the original spark plugs and wires from 1990 in it lol.

The specs are its a 1990 chevy Berreta Indy 3.1 with 125k miles.
