Red face help please 94 Corsica

looking for my fuel filter. fixed the overheating problem, then fixed oil leak. now my car runs , but has no power really. I press the gas and I go about 10 miles an hour. I know I need a new muffler, I found out by opening my trunk and my 2 carpets and a 1/2" thick rubber mat were melted together. Very scary. please need to try to replace it> Thank you
