00' Blazer brake issue
I have a 2000 Blazer LS and when going under 10 mph in either drive or reverse the brakes or parking brake I'm not sure keep engaging and squealing the brakes and then the car will start to skip around a lot, and when the brakes free up the wheels spin considerably. Does the parking brake need to be readjusted? Pulling the release doesn't do anything.
There is no brake booster with the engine off, there is with the engine on, so it is normal to get more pedal travel with the engine on, but not all the way to the floor.
- Check your brake fluid level, it may be too low
- Check your braking lines for leaks. Most common leak point is at joints between the steel lines and the rubber lines, as well as near the rubber lines and the brake hardware (calipers, drums)
- Bleed the lines for air. Air trapped in braking lines causes brake pedal softness.
- Check the level of brake wear, especially the rear. Worn brakes need more pedal travel.
Hi, I have the same problem but mine actually locked completely up, I replaced the vacuum hoses, check valve. also check the small boot that connects the harder plastic tubing to the 3 way connector. I had heater, 4WD, and Brake problems, replaced the tubing, that fixed the heater and 4wd... not the brakes, well kinda, it was better, but still faulty, so i replaced the boot that connects the smaller hard vacuum tube, I used a piece of Silicon- Welding Oxygen tubing, Free! its been working great for a year now, hope that helps, I read all kinds of brake tubing threads all bad bad deals, I have a 2000 zr2
