2005 Trailblazer Overheating
I have a 2005 trailblazer that has started overheating.
From day one, there has been no visible water leakage. No water under the car.
Also, there is no water in the oil or visa versa. There is no milky color in the radiator or on the oil cap. There is no white smoke. There is no water coming from the tailpipe.
Turning on the heater doesn't seem to have any affect.
As long as I am idling, the temp stays closer to where it should be. When I drive it is when it starts overheating.
There is always water still in the reservoir when it overheats.
I can hear the water bubbling and boiling when it overheats.
A few times when it was overheating and I was trying to find a place to pull over, the temp was at its' hottest, 260 and then suddenly it dropped to 100 and then quickly made it's way back up to 260.
I replaced the water pump. It worked for several miles of driving. I put water and antifreeze in it and it idled for about 20 minutes without overheating. Once I started driving again it overheated.
When I would pull it over to stop, the engine was revving higher and higher.
I replaced the thermostat. (192) This worked for a few miles before overheating.
I used K-Seal in it and let it idle for about 30 minutes without overheating. This worked until I had to put my foot in the gas to make it up a pretty good sized hill.
I replaced the fan clutch. As long as it was idling, it didn't overheat. Once I started driving it, it overheated.
I flushed the radiator and let it run for about an hour without overheating. I drove it around town and after about 30 minutes it started overheating again.
I am not super knowledgeable about mechanics. I've done all I know to do. What am I not doing?
Thanks in advance. I need all the help I can get.
