Exclamation Vehicle Issues After Key Fob Got Wet

Hi everyone,

My fiancé has a 2021 Blazer. On the 4th, I decided it would be a fantastic idea to go swimming with the fob. When we went to go home, I noticed some issues with getting the car to recognize the fob. Not exactly unexpected.

The next day, we swapped out the one that went swimming for the extra one that has only seen dry land. We noticed that the flashers were activated. Start up the car, that stops and the rest of the day goes by without any issues. This morning, she goes to leave for work and the flashers are activated again and the battery is dead. Quick jump and she's back on the road. Now there's a theft deterrent alert and the doors won't lock.

Has anyone dealt with this before and, if so, what were the underlying issues?

the aquatic fob probably continued to transmit. Pull the battery out.
You should have opened it up right away to dry it out, and you could still save it.
