2000 Camaro SS - questions
Okay, so I went and drove a Camaro SS today - wow. So much different than my seemingly gutless Mustang (V6). Convertible, Borla Exhaust, aftermarket rims, Hurst shifter (odd feeling to me), leather interior, etc. Only has 64k or so miles.
For the bad, there is some body damage. One good size ding below the passenger door on the bottom trim, the tail light is cracked and bumper a bit messed up (looks like backed into something), the windshield is cracked (down the middle, pretty good size crack), the convertible top button is sort of falling off, when I moved the sun blocker to undo the top, that popped out and wouldn't go back in (the metal piece was actually broken off), and it seemed to be pretty bumpy on the highway. Few other things I'm probably not mentioning, but that seems to be the gist of it. The top was alright, starting to fade a bit, window alright, line across the bar where it seems to sit and start the actual frame.
Basically, he and his friend say "it's been taken good care of", whatever. Horse **** IMO. You can tell its been beat on, and albeit having that low number of miles, more seems to be wrong with it than there should be.
He's asking 10k for it. Was asking 12k a month or so ago, then I saw it re-listed for the 10. I figured I'd offer 8, and take it if he said yeah. Main problem I see will be little things like exterior work, because the engine seems pretty good and strong and it shifts fine. If I put 2k of stuff into getting all that fixed, would it be worth it?
Also, the clutch felt really light compared to what I'm used to...not sure if it was just me or not, then again the 2010 VW CC I drove today also had a very light clutch....could be just me?

It all depends. If ur talking about putting 2k into it to fix it for u to drive it then it'd be worth it yes. If u mean putting 2k into it so u can resell it then id say no. I don't see u getting much of anything more than 10 anyway. If it was me I would highly consider staying away from it anyway. I know it only has 60k ish miles but there's no way it should have all of that stuff wrong with it. Try to find out who the previous owner was too (not like they'd say anything other than it was a little old lady who kept it in a garage lol). Those 64k miles could have been extremely hard and be equal to 160k lol.
Anyway if u do decide that u still want to go for it just be sure to look that engine over too because if the outside/exterior looks that bad who knows what's going on under the hood? I wish you the best of luck with it though

from the pic it really does look like a nice car. I hope the guy was honest and that the miles on it werent hard for your sake. I hate to see someone fork out tons of money and then get jipped. Yeah its a nice looking ride bro congrats. Didnt you say there was some damage on it somewhere? How bad is it?
It isn't horrible, but it could get bad real quick if not taken care of soon. The paint around it started chipping, so looks like I'll need to get an estimate quick and get it fixed asap. Since the window motor was included with the car, and the estimate was $475 for parts and labor, I did it myself. Was relatively easy with the guide I found over at Camaro forums. Besides that, the sun visors need replacing, the taillight, and the seatbelt brackets. There is something a bit wonky with the light/wiper system too, possibly a bad relay or something. Basically the driver's side light (turn signal) stays completely lit all the time for some reason, when signal on it blinks, then goes right back to being on. Other lights aren't on BTW, just that one. The wipers seem to have one speed most of the time, unless on high (then they really go).
