Default 2012 Chevy Camaro

Now, Chevy has done it again. They have created a new beast, the 2012 Chevy Camaro. This Camaro continues the sixth generation just as the last 2 years did except now buyers have some new options.

I don't mean to nitpick, but isn't this the 5th. generation of the camaro, not the 6th.
Just had to get that out there, cause it seems like they are getting a little ahead of themselves.

What you are looking at here is the new ZL1 Camaro.
The ZL1 has a 6.2-liter Supercharged OHV V8 engine, SAE-rated at 580 hp and 556 lb ft of torque, which makes it the most-powerful production Camaro ever produced. The ZL1 also comes with a standard dual-mode exhaust system, featuring vacuum-actuated valves in the exhaust pipes for a refined exhaust note at low speeds, as well as a free-flowing system for peak performance.
Also standard on the ZL1 is Performance Traction Management, which integrates magnetic ride control, launch control, traction control, electronic stability control and electric power steering response to enhance performance - technology first introduced on the Corvette ZR1.

I must say that even without the cover, the top stows politely enough to be attractive. We see zero need for the additional decoration.
Throw the top up, and the convertible does a smart job of retaining the same chopped-look roofline of the coupe, though mechanical necessity has generated a C-pillar that's slightly chunkier than that of the metal-roofed Camaro.
