Exclamation camaro dies out when brakes are applied

when i start to apply the brakes on my 2001 camaro the car seems like it wants to die out, if i apply the brakes hard the car dies, also when i take off the car start jerking until i start to maintain a normal speed , iv noticed that when the car starts to die the gauges all go in the red....WHat could be causing this problem? Iv even tried to change the battery thinking it was something related to that but didnt stop the problem.

check that you have a solid ground form the battery to the motor and from the battery to the body, sounds like you have a bad body ground and the body is using the park brake cable for a ground cable. saw a ford econoline catch fire because of no body ground, and 7 others burn up the park brake cable, before we figured it out. that was when I built emergency vehicles fo a living.
