Default Changing Piston Rings

I am changing the rings but cannot take the motor out of the car. Any advice? I have an 89 Camaro V6.

only way is to drop the pan, which will require that the motor be lifted, if not taken out. oil pan has to come off, with room to use a torque wrench effectively when reassembling.

No you have to take out the engine.First off you can not run new rings without honing the cylinders and that is only the case providing the cylinders don't need boring. The pistons need to come out the top. There is a whole host of reasons why I am saying the engine needs to come out.Cob'ing a job like this together can only result in more issues than it solves.
