Default LS1 5.7L question

I'm new to building Chevrolets being that I've been an old Mopar guy for years but I started building a 96' Camaro and this may sound like a dumb question to some but here it goes. Did the 5.7L LS1 blocks come from the factory as 4-bolt main motors or did they all come with 6-bolt mains with the two cross bolts coming in from the side of the block? I see that Summit Racing has 6-bolt blocks and wondered if that was an aftermarket thing or if the blocks were 6-bolt main from the factory? Thx. Greg

NO idea on LS1 without doing google research.

The LT1s from what I've read - 4 bolt mains on vettes, but 2 bolt on f-body, etc, etc.

You might find your answers researching over at ls1tech.com or some ls1 specific sites.

So your dropping a LS1 into your 96 F-body?? What happened to your LT1?

The car is originally a V6 car. I picked it up for next to nothing. The body on it is in excellent condition. I chose to go with the LS1 because it seems like there are a ton of performance options for them over the LT1.

Yeah, LS1 is the latest and greatest and definitely now with a longer running production than the LT1.
