My friend and I are planning to switch our cars with each other for a few months. Do we need to buy new insurance or can we simply trade car insurance policies too? We're both the same age, going to the same university and stay in the same neighborhood in Jackson, IL. We both have clean driving records. Has anybody done this before? Any insight would be very helpful. We are looking to exchange an Acura Integra with a Chevrolet Camaro.

 

If it were me........I would add the friends car to my current policy.I have done this when "borrowing" a friends car before. Then you still have the policy on yours and you can be SURE you are covered in case ANYTHING happens. Or you can check into adding each other to your current policies as drivers of said vehicles.
