Starting Problem
I have an 82 camaro with a 350 in it and before i bought the car the kid was driving it every day but right before i bought the car from him he thought he was going to be smart and try to replace the distributor by himself, well the car hasnt ran since he did that. I replaced the battery and the starter today and now the car just cranks real slow but when you take all 8 spark plugs out it cranks faster. Any ideas???
is the disty putting out spark? is it all hooked up right? the reason why it cranks faster with plugs out is because the compression isnt staying contained in the cylinder so there isnt any force against the piston.
I Have an '82 350 4bbl (L-48 Block) Berlinetta. Once I placed the distributor back in the car
and I had it 180 degrees off or backwards. It wouldn't do anything! I got it turned around &
it started right off!
On another occassion, on a 327 motor - I couldn't get it started & a pal of mine moved the
distributor back and forth slightlyas I cranked the motor & it finally started after it had sat
for 3 years!
