Default Wrong Vin in ECM off the line?

I bought my 2012 Camaro with 21k miles on her. Shortly after purchase we started having electrical issues.

fast forward to diagnosing, and find the ecm in the car…is programmed to the wrong vin.

I can’t imagine they would’ve changed out the ecm by 21k miles… so makes sense it came off the line with the wrong ecm

anyone else have this issue?

The easiest solution is to reprogram the ECM to match your car's VIN. This can be done by a Chevrolet dealer or a repair shop that specializes in automotive diagnostics.
