I have a 1977 caprice landau 2 dr coupe. I cannot locate a replacement hood as 77-79 differ from 80-90. i can find all kinds of parts for the latter. I want the euro front clip from a late 80's caprice. will i be able to swap the entire front clip? my fenders are good so i am looking at maybee just the headlight panel, hood and bumper. Will this work. Also if i have to use the 80's front fenders, will my body lines match?

I got a '79. I had no idea the hoods can not be exchanged with '80 and up. Why is that? I thought just about every exterior part on the box Caprices' could be interchanged. I'm going to look into that because, if I'm ever involved in a wreck, I'd want my car fixed immediately and the only place to get parts is the scrap yard. I guess you could work out a deal with your local junk yard and see if you can buy a front clip to test-fit it and if it don't work, return it an hour later or something but most junk yard sales are final unless they are cool which most are not.
