No it dont have a roller cam and you can remove the air pump and all the plumming.I did it but i didnt replace my manifolds with headers and i had to plug all the holes in the exhaust manifoldwhere the steel line went fron the A.I.R. system. I also remover my a/c and replaced it with an aftermarket pully from advanced auto that bolted right in place of a/c pump. I'll get the part number for the belt i used. I just routed the old one andpinched a vise grip on theslackand they matched one up for me.

Yes the 305 does have a roller cam. Removal of the air pump will not affect the running of the engine, but it will not pass emissions inspections, it will burn up the catalytic converter.

I beg to differ on burning out the cat. My 92 chev K2500 truck with 305 tbi came from the factory without a smog pump. It just passed a smog test. That was with a brand new exhaust front to back, including headers, but the cat I removed was the factory original monstrosity, which would have been passing e-tests as long as we've had them here. Some of these trucks came with smog pumps and some didn't, but I don't know what the deciding factor was at the factory. But, a bad or removed O2 sensor will allow too rich a mixture to pass through the cat, causing premature failure of the cat.
