Hello. I am removing and replacing the drivers' side doors on a '92 Caprice Classic. Door panel on front door is removed and wires labeled. In order to open the door wide enough to insert the door spring tool and generally get more room to work, can I tap out the things that look sort of like golf tees (or what else might need to be removed)?

Seems like a better idea than forcing the door open wide.
