Default why am i getting low torque/pulling power while driving ?

i have a 87 chevy caprice with a 305 and 700 r4 transmission. i have installed a edlebrock 1406 carburator, a cfr 65,000 v hei distributor, and a hi-rise intake manifold, i forgot the brand.

i can get the car to start and drive it. but it doesnt feel right, like when im driving i can get some speed but it doesnt seem that the transmission is shifting to the next gear or as if im not accelerating fast enough or maybe not getting a rich enough air/fuel mixture. bascially i think and know i should be going faster. i can gain speed over time with my foot on the gas pedal. when i floor the gas pedal i can hear the engine like make a hollow/deep sound , kina sounds empty. but it sounds cool honestly , it has like a race car like sound, as if its charging up. i just wished that when it does the sound it would take off and burn rubber, like before when you floored the gas pedal and the engine made the deep sound from the throttle opening up and the car takes off and you can hear the rear wheels burning ruber ,gaining instant power and speed. thats what im lacking and missing. it does burn rubber and take off good when i pull off from being parked or turning a corner, just not while im already in motion. ive heard some one talk about bogging out but i dont know what that means exactly.

Can anyone tell me whats wrong with my set up ? why am i not getting torque or the proper power i should be getting ?
