Default 2012 Captiva Sport electrical problems

I know there are many posts and threads about electrical issues with Captivas but summarizing my history here as it is a little different than others. After purchasing mine about 8 years ago with low miles the batter began smoking. A local mechanic changed the batter, the alternator then the battery again (and possibly a wiring harness or batter cables) before finally recommending a body control module replacement. That fixed the issue until this year when it began to hesitate at starting. Had the starter replaced then I experience the problem of traction control light and many others coming on at regular intervals before losing power and eventually stalling. Next diagnostic result was to replace the alternator which a local mechanic did using a refurbished unit. Ran fine for a few hundred miles or maybe more before experiencing the same problem. GM dealer recommended alternator replacement again and the mechanic who performed that work replaced it with another refurbished unit at no cost. Ran fine for about 1k miles before losing power again and stalling. It is starting and running ok again for a couple days now but I know it is only a matter of time before it fails again so I have started a case with GM customer service who is coordinating with my local dealer. I read that battery cables seem to fix similar problems but I am guessing the dealer will tell me the alternator is still bad. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. Thanks.
