Captiva Stereo
I just bought my 2012 Captiva last week and I love it....except for one thing~the radio cuts out...not static from the station fading, it just goes silent. Then after a while the stereo shows a message that says "device not supported" or something like that. There is nothing plugged in to the stereo at all. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Today I also heard static from the speakers not like a weak station but more like an electrical static and the headlights dimmed. Also as I was driving down the road on dry pavement in a straight line, the chime went off and the traction control maintenance light illuminated.
I will be calling the Chevy garage Monday.
They did replace my BCM (body control module) and it took care of my original problem. They have also had to replace my battery harness and had to put in a new battery. The new battery surprised me because I found out after I bought the car (it was a year old) that the dealership had put a new one in right after they put it on their lot but they put in a battery that was not of sufficient amps.
It still does a few odd things:
1) when we stop and the front passenger exists the car, the passenger seat belt light will continue to flash and chime every 2 or 3 minutes.
2) the front passenger window will sometimes not go up or down (neither button works) but the other windows work.
3) a few radio stations don't sound good
4) when de-accelerating and turning a corner, when you press the accelerator it does nothing for a second or two.
not real happy with this rig - these issues and the awful gas mileage
