Default Headlamp issue...

2013 Captiva

So my driver's side low beam lightbulb went out the other day. Didn't think much of it, and figured a new bulb would do the trick. Bought a new bulb and popped it in....NOTHING. I'm not an electrical expert, but I have a multimeter and can do some basic diagnostics. So far, I verified that there is no voltage at the low beam bulb connector. Also, I pulled the headlamp fuses and they look good. The high beam and marker bulbs in the assembly still work perfectly, just not the low beam bulb. Also, the passenger side works perfectly. The issue is only the low beam on the driver's side.

How can I do further tests to isolate the issue?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Check for a break in the wiring from the bulb socket to as far as you can. Do you mean the socket when you say connector?

Yes, socket. I guess I used wrong terminology. The piece the bulb plugs into. I got zero voltage at the low beam socket. To be sure I was testing correctly, I did the exact same test on the high beam socket and got 12 volts as expected. I visually inspected the wiring and saw nothing obvious. Like I said, the fuses look good. Could it possibly be a relay problem? How can I test the wiring if it visually looks good?

Thanks!

I don't think it is the relay since the other side works. Did you check all the fuses as there is a separate fuse for the left low beam and the right low beam. Did you do a visual inspection on the fuses or did you use the multimeter to check them?
