Default Need help with this warning light PLEASE

Hello everyone so for the past year i’m facing this problem and nobody could find a solution.. The problem is when you press the gas pedal, the vehicle beeps instantly and gas power is gone right away. You have to keep your foot away from the gas pedal and wait a few seconds then press again, otherwise the car won’t move..

I went to repair it they changed the gas pedal and they tried lots of things but the problem is still there. I hope someone can find a solution here Thanks everyone

Without knowing what trouble codes the vehicles computer is throwing, it's hard to know how to help you. If you don't have an ODB2 reader, places like Autozone/O'Reilly/Advanced Auto can read the reason for the check engine light for you. What we need here are the codes causing the light to be on.

Well, one thing you have not told us is what exact engine you have, but based on one of the codes, do you have a diesel?

P0674 - Cylinder 4 Glow Plug Circuit Fault

https://www.autocodes.com/search_codes.php?q=P0674

Causes can be:

- Bad glow plug
- Bad glow plug wiring harness
- Bad/corroded electrical connection
- Faulty glow plug control module
- Other things?

That said, I have no experience whatsoever with GM diesel engines, or diesel engines at all for that matter!

P2299 - Brake Position / Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible

https://www.engine-codes.com/p2299.html

Possible Causes:

- Faulty brake pedal position sensor.
- Faulty accelerator pedal position sensor.
- Wiring or connector issues between the two sensors.
- Software or calibration issues in the electronic control module.

Hope that helps!

Hello! Thank you so much for your response, yes my car is Diesel 2012 Chevrolet Captiva. Same as this one;

One more question, what do you exactly refer to by “Electronic Control Module”? Is it something related to one of the electrical modules of engine itself or an another module of the Gas&Brake Pedal?

I was quoting text from a generic explanation of that code. It would refer to either the body control module (BCM) or engine control module (ECM) on your vehicle.

All the maintenance info for your vehicle is online at https://charm.li

For example, here is the location of the sensors for the brake and accelerator pedals:

https://charm.li/Chevy%20Truck/2012/...sor/Locations/

Looking at one of the electrical diagrams, here, you can see that the sensors for both pedals (APP and BPP) tie to the Engine Control Module (ECM).

https://charm.li/Chevy%20Truck/2012/...tem%20Diagram/

You said someone replaces the accelerator pedal, and presumably the sensor. I am wondering if the problem is/was in the brake pedal position sensor instead, and if they looked at that...
