Question 00' and up aftermarket radio

hey im new to installing head units in cavaliers and i read about the aftermarket harness for radio install $45-60 with me not makeing that much miney with car paymeants and insurence .. i dont have that much money left ... is there and cheeper one ?? the one i found is http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-GM06B-.../dp/B0007KK292

That looks like it's an all in one kit that includes the alert/chime adapter. I have an 02 andI bought the harness and the chime adapter seperately. If you wanna save some money and feel like you don't need the reminder chime(s) you should be able to go to Autozone, pep boys, or best buy and get just the harness for $20 or less.

Totally! Skip all that and just get the unit to hold it in place properly for under $20. Some newer vehicles radio's however, also control the power to things like power windows, locks, dash lights and all those kinds of things. So be sure to do your research and make sure you know what you might loose.

Different car, but I had a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. With that car, most of the electronics WOULD NOT work without the stock deck. I had to relocate it to the trunk or I would have lost ALL my power options!!
