1996 Chevy Cavalier, rewiring question.
Alright my "mechanic" brother stated to me about oh a year and a half ago that he was going to fix my cavalier if I purchased the parts. After putting in over $700 in parts to fix it, he finally does it, in 1 years time. We goto start it up, it doesnt work. Come to find out a rat had chewed through the wires.
So now the car has to be re-wired, he stated he was going to do it BUT its been 6 months already so I doubt its going to happen anytime soon. What kind of parts would I need to rewire the car for example wire harness etc. Also if you know a mechanic that would come to my house that lives in the NJ area and will do it for $300 let me know. I'd do it myself but im a computer guy not a car guy.

You can also splice the wires back together if they are easy to get to. It would be cheaper and easier than replacing the harness. Just match color of wire to color of wire. Either solder the wires together or use butt connectors. Which ever way you choose always use heat shrink tubing to seal the weather out.
