Working and driving the car around. The battery light came on. Continued to drive for an hour until it completely died. since the battery light came on i knew it was running purely off the battery as the windshield wipers were slowing down until it died. So i figured the alternator took a ****ter since its old as dirt. Went and bought a new alt. and put it in. Got a jump. Everythings fine till the cables come off. The battery light comes on and then it dies. Went and got a new battery. Installed it. Turned the car over. Battery light is still on. After $250 bucks im out of ideas.

Anyone know?

 

You very well could have a defective new alternator. When the old one failed it is possible it blew the fuse for the charging system.

 

so i should check fuses? where? (Specifically the name of the fuse im looking for)
