2000 Cavalier cold start problem
Good morning all,
I have just bought this 2000 Cavalier with a 2.2l engine for my son. I bought it with a blown head gasket, I have replaced head and head gasket and on initial start it ran great. I ran it for 30 mins took for a test drive and it ran fine. I went to start a couple days later and she would not stay running, she would run for a couple of seconds and die as if she was lean or running out of fuel. This process would happen another 4-5 times and then idle, if you try to accelerate she will will sputter as if she is running out of fuel. If you let her run for 3-5 mins she runs great until she gets cold again and the process begins again. I have checked the TPS, IAC and the MAP sensor and everthing appears to be working, I am using a Haynes manual and there are no specs for any of these sensors. If anyone could give me any advice it would be very much appreciated.
