I have a 2000 cavalier with a 2.2 ohv engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission What would I have to do to change it to a 4 speed automatic transmission? I have been told that I would have to change the axles and the computer. I'm in the auto salvage bussiness of-sorts parts are no problem. My first thing that I came across is that I have a computer that came out of a 2000 cavalier with the same engine and it had a 4 speed automatic transmission, and all the numbers are exactly the same as Mine? any feed back is welcome.

I'm sorry but I left out some important information, I should have said that I have a 3 speed automatic transmission and would like to install a 4 speed automatic transmission.

Sorry, somehow I read 4 speed manual but your post does say 4 speed automatic.

My tranny went out of my 2003 Cavalier 2.2 with 130k miles, i was very hard on it, neutral drops and to many ebrake burnouts, but i also would like to put a 4 speed in it,,,, i can get a tranny with 125k on it for 175 and its a 4speed... what else would i need?
