Default 2000 Cavalier will not start (not battery or alternator)

2000 Cavalier 2dr, automatic. The instrument cluster, radio and A/C blower have no power. The headlights, 4 way flashers, horn and, accessory all have power. The car will not turn over or make any noise at all. All fuses are good under the hood and are all hot. All fuses in the car are good. This has not happened before this is a first time problem for this vehicle.

Hi Xerklite,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Your battery cables are 10 years old now.(don't forget your engine-to-firewall ground strap)
What are they lookin' like? Once battery cables start to corrode under the insulation, your battery's power heats up the cable's corrosion instead of turning your starter. They don't cost much, and you can DIY.

2 dr automatic 2000 cavalier. The lights, radio, dashboard work as well but when turn the key it won't start. I need help...someone please tell me what it is. I'm a mother of two this is my means of transportation. I got a tune on my car and it started just fine but when I get in my car to run errands it wouldn't start at all.

Has it ever acted like the starter was dragging? It could be the starter solenoid, however I would think it would gradually get weak, then not crank at all. Have you tried jump starting it? Check the battery cable from the starter, I believe there is a fuseable link in it. That could be your problem.
