Default 2004 cavalier 2.2 automatic has no power issues...

Motor runs fine...Problem is when you try to accelerate it feels as if someone has their foot on the brake at same time...Tranny shifts only if you let of accelerator pedal.
It is my daughters car,i am afraid she may get hurt....Car has low mileage, been sitting few years.....Replaced fuel pump when bought.
My wife drove couple weeks, seemed fine to her,but.....
Can someone help me?...I don't have much money for parts either..

Default It's me again..

It seems like the emergency brake is on...Floor it,and it just slows down...Let off gas pedal and it speeds up some what, then gears will change....If you take off slowly it does OK,but If I wanted to pass someone,it would be dangerous...
She gets her drivers license in November too.....
Thank you for any help,
JD
