89 cavalier lunging
I have an 89 cavalier. When you start it up it runs fine. After about 5 minutes, you start to notice when you are stopped, that it lunges foreward. With the brakes fully applied, you can feel the car tugging foreward against the brakes like its getting gas. In neutral it will idle up and down. Over time as you drive it more, the idling increases. The lunging increases. Another 5 minutes, maybe 10, it will die if not given gas. Its almost best to put it in neutral when sitting at a stop and rev it to about 1000rpm. The car starts to act like its missing out or sputtering. There is a loss of engine power. Every now and then you can feel that power sputter, it will come and go. Thats about when I try to quit driving it. Its the only car I have so I have to use it for work. I don't have any way to read codes. What can I do to test anything? Or does anyone have any ideas?
