97 CAV WON'T START
I have a 1997 chevy cavalier that's been sitting in my parents backyard for about 2 years. I'm tring to restore this thing, but i'm having some problems. It has a new battery and fuel filter. It cranks, but WILL NOT start. I sprayed some throttlebody cleaner in the carb, and it starts fine but when it evaporates it shuts off, and will not start back up unless i spray more throttlebody in it.To me it sounds like it's not getting any fuel to the carb. Can anyone HELP ME UNDERSTAND whats wrong?

RE: 97 CAV WON'T START
Well check to see if your fuel pump is working. To do this turn the key all the way on (but do not start the car) you should here the pump kick on and pump some fuel. If your fuel pump is working it is very possible that your fuel injectors are gummed up. Even though the car has been sitting for 2 years, it should still run off that old gas. Gas is gas. Unless any moisture or water got into the gas somehow it should still run.
