Default ac only working while driving

2002 cavalier AC only works while driving, At idle it runs for a little while then blows hot and heats up past 195+. It sounds like the compressor. Any ideas?

Yeah, it sucks... it sounds like the ac compressor to me. But, I could be wrong. Or, it could also be that theres a leak somewhere? Though someone might know?

Check that your engine cooling fan is coming on when the A/C is turned on. If the fan motor is bad then the A/C compressor will cycle on & off. If the fan is not coming on with the A/C on OR when the engine heats up past 210 then check the fan fuse and relay. On the Cav. '04 they're both in a black fuse block under the hood. If fan proves to be good then you should check the freon pressure on the low side. It may be just low enough to make the compressor get too hot. I had to replace the cooling fan recently on said Cav. and there's a trick to getting the fan shroud off so let us know what you found.

I had a similar problem...
