AC problem.

AC problem.
I am new to this forum so this may have been answered already. I have a 2001 Cav, 5 speed manual. When I have the AC on and am driving, the car stays cool. When I sit at idle for any length of time the compressor kicks on and off and the interior of the car heats up. I also notice a very quick drop of 100 rpms. I can hear the compressor click on and off.
