AC Question
I'm new to the Cavalier forum so........Just a question that's bin bugging me for a long time. On my 04 I've noticed my AC compressor runs all the time the AC is turned no matter how I adjust the blue/red dash temp wheel. I can turn the temp wheel to "not as cold" but the compressor still runs even though the air in side the cabin changes as directed. My way is thinking is this car's AC system works by mixing the heater system with the AC systems in order to "turn the AC temp down a little" making the air coming out of the vents "not as cold".
My thought is the AC compressor should turn off when a dialed temp is reached, like the old GM compressor. My question is there a sensor, switch or something that should turn the compressor on and off when it reaches the desired cabin temp ?
Thanks
Larry
