Question Are all GM replacement parts warrantied

I have a 2005 Cavalier 2.2 liter ecotech DOHC. IN October the ignition lock broke making it impossible to turn the ignition switch. Dealer replaced the switch with a GM ignition lock. Now 5 months later the switch broke again making it impossible to get the key out. You could start the car but couldn't shut it off since the key was stuck in the run position. The lock switch probably needs replaced again. Now is that part guaranteed for any time period. I know the dealer will charge for labor cause theyre crooks, but I don't thing I should have to pay another $ 300.00 for a bad GM switch. I looked on the chey web page and it doesn't list that as a covered part. I think those are a limited lifetime guarantee. It shoud be covered for at least a year or so, You would think.
