Default Brake Light Switch Retainer

2005 Cavalier
Brake lights stayed on overnight and ran down the battery. Brake light switch pushed out of the retainer making the brake lights stay on. It would not push back in. And of course I broke the plastic retainer when trying to remove it.

I'm having trouble finding a replacement retainer. Anyone know what part number the retainer is? It looks like P/N 10418918. I bought 13808 from O Reilly's but it doesn't look like this is right. Anyone run into this before and know what P/N to get?

I included pictures of the switch, the broken retainer, and what the retainer looked like when it was installed.

Rockauto has the assembly at a very good price.

I was having a lot of trouble finding this brake light switch retainer and I had to get this back on the road this weekend.

So I thought I'd share this just incase anyone else has this problem...

I bought a brake light switch for a 2005 Monte Carlo. It is Standard SLS179 from O'Reilly. The "neck" is threaded 1/2-20 (fine thread). So I used the hole in the plate that was intended for the retainer and put the switch through it, and put a nut and nylon washer on the harness side, and a nut on the plunger side. I used the nuts to adjust the depth for the plunger and tightened the everything. The wiring harnesses fit the switch. The Monte Carlo switch has two extra pins, but the Cavalier harness doesn't have wires for these pins. Everything works.
