A/C Light/Compressor engages on defrost/feet
Hey guys,
New here, and I have a question. I just purchased a 2003 Cavalier and when I have the heat on, and turn it to window defrost, or defrost/feet setting the A/C light goes on and the compressor engages.. is this normal? Any other setting it's off. Everything else seems to work as its supposed to.
Thanks in advance, I look forward to your replies.

That's normal. The a/c compressor is supposed to turn on when the selector is in the defrost and defrost/floor position. It dries the air (removes moisture from the air) to prevent the windows from fogging up and in turn defrosts the windows faster, plus it keeps everything in the a/c system lubricated during the winter months which makes your vehicles a/c system very
