Default Can't pull engine off tranny shaft

2000, 2.2L 5speed... Hi guys, I am having problems getting my engine sliding off my tranny shaft. the engine is already separated from the bell housing and the engine is already on engine hoist. Transmission is already jacked up with a floor jack. there is a good 2 inch gap all around between the engine and the bell housing. I can wobble it anywhere, loose as a goose. I can't just get it to slide off the shaft, is there something I am missing inside that I have not thought of?? Any help would be appreciated, thanks ahead of time!
