Car jerks violently!!! Help me
I have a 97 Chevy cavalier. I'm an alright mechanic, I put the engine and standard tranny in my self and everything. It was 100% perfect car for about 2 years. One night I was out with a buddy and we got a little wild and we were driving places we shouldn't have been. After that night the car does this weird jerking thing that comes and goes and I can't find the problem. The only code that keeps coming up is the evaporative emissions control switch but I don't see that having anything to do with it. If I keep the car under 1500 rpm It runs just fine but it has a funny idle, and anything over 1500 it'll jerk violently. Here's the kicker, reverse works perfectly fine. If somebody can help me out that would be awesome
Like my buddy convinced me to go down into a ravine and it took a couple try to get out but we made it. The engine is a 2.2 and not sure on the exact code but it was something like that. The problem comes and goes, like yesterday I parked it in my buddies shop at about 10 or some and at 3 when I got back I pulled it out and it was perfectly fine.
