Hi, I am new to this forum and need a little help. I need to replace the coolant sensor that is in the coolant reservoir. Is it necessary to take the reservoir out? I did download the Haynes repair manual and no info in there. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks

 

Some models you can only get the sensor with a new bottle. If it is replaceable separately then you would need to remove the bottle. If the low coolant light is on and the coolant is not low sometimes you can just bang the bottle with your hand a few times and it will go out. What happens is the sensor gets stuck in the down position
