My 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 randomly stalls when coming to an abrubt or sudden stop. I have tried replacing the fuel filter, spark plugs, throttle position sensor (TPS), idle air control (IAC), and removed and cleaned the throttle body.

Before I removed and cleaned the throttle body, the problem was much worse. It would happen at every stop, regardless of speed.

I am very tired of chasing this problem. If someone would please give some insight or opinion on the matter, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

my friend had the same problem they replaced the chip in the pc and it solved I hope this helps

 

Any idea what type of chip would be a good one? Are we talking like a cheap e-bay chip or something more pricey?

 

your ecm does not have removable eprom. that is old technology from the 80's and early 90's....not obdII vehicles post 1996
