Default Front end noise? Not sure what is going on!

2001 cavalier sounds like a wheel bearing is gone but i cant tell. I jacked up the front of the car and all the front end feels good nice and tight. I put the car in drive when it was up on jack stands and the right wheel turns fine but the left one does not it spins a couple turn when you put it in drive but then it stops. If you give the car some throttle it will not turn but the right wheel spins freely. Is this correct? Should it be like that? Also i noticed when the car is put in gear the engine really jumps the engine mount under the coolant tank seems loose all the bolts are tight but it seems to move a lot. My sister just got this car and i am looking it over and i am wondering if there is a problem in the front end. Any help would be great thanks.
